Dieppa Experience: Franz Liszt and the Sonata in B Minor

Roberto McCausland-Dieppa, described as one of the best classical pianists of his generation, has forged a special connection with the works of Franz Liszt. Among Liszt’s vast repertoire, the Sonata in B Minor stands out as a centerpiece of Dieppa’s performances. This emotionally and technically demanding work reveals Dieppa’s ability to capture its intricate motifs and sweeping structures, transforming it into a living story that resonates deeply with audiences.

Recognized Excellence and Awards

Dieppa’s dedication to Liszt’s music has earned him the Pro-Arte Hungarica Award from the Hungarian Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Columbia University in New York. Sharing this honor with luminaries such as Yehudi Menuhin and György Sandor, Dieppa’s artistry in interpreting the works of Ferenc Liszt and Béla Bartók is celebrated globally.

In 2006, he was invited to participate in the United Nations’ 50th anniversary celebration of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. The event, hosted alongside Henry Kissinger, further cemented his global legacy.

His debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall, marked by a standing ovation and an astonishing eight encores, further showcased his mastery and secured his place among the best classical pianists. Shortly after, he became the first Colombian pianist to achieve a successful international career, joining the J. Walter Thompson-World Wide Entertainment group led by David Lory.
